MasterVoices’ 2024-25 season continues next year on February 3 and 4 with Blind Injustice.

Review: CRUMBS FROM THE TABLE OF JOY Plays at Celebration Arts
by Courtney Symes - Nov 2, 2024
When I heard that Celebration Arts was performing a Lynn Nottage play, I knew I had to be there. My first experience with her work was last year seeing Clyde’s at Capital Stage. I was struck by the characters and how they interacted with each other. They were all multi-faceted and so human, filled with joy and flaws. Celebration Arts’ selection, Crumbs from the Table of Joy, is set in a different place and time, yet equally complex.
Review: IN THE HEIGHTS at Downtown Cabaret Theatre
by Sean Fallon - Nov 2, 2024
On Friday, November 1st, I had the pleasure of seeing a phenomenal opening night performance of IN THE HEIGHTS at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT! Set in Washington Heights in New York City, in a predominantly Latino community, this show delivers the right blend of drama, action, and comedy, enhanced by high quality dancing, singing, and acting, with music and dialogue delivered with the ideal combination of Spanish to create believability, and English so audience members who only speak English can clearly follow the story, while remaining intrigued and entertained. The music, written by Lin Manuel Miranda includes moving slow ballads, intense rap and hip-hop, Salsa, and other mostly Latin influences. Director Ben Tostado combines his talents with choreographer Olivia Rivera and music director Mark Ceppetelli to bring out the best in this first-rate cast!
Review: THE POMEGRANATE TREE at Theatre Off Jackson
by Shelley Dean - Nov 3, 2024
Successful immersive theater is a difficult-to-achieve, yet, extremely sought-after experience. There’s a classic elegance to a completely seated, stationery work of art, and there’s modern excitement that comes with an interactive show.

At Out Front Theatre Company, 2024 Atlanta has become 1960s Baltimore as audiences flock to see their current production of Hairspray. Filled with humor and catchy tunes, it’s a show that is charming and fun while giving the viewers a deeper message too, one about equality and giving the underdog a fighting chance.
