Stars and casts from the current Broadway line-up have been busy in the studio, recording for the 2013 Broadway's Carols for a Cure, Volume 15. Singing traditional and original holiday songs, this annual holiday music CD benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), one of the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. Craig Bierko will begin performances tonight in the role of Miss Trunchbull in MATILDA THE MUSICAL at Broadway's Shubert Theatre. Bierko was originally scheduled to begin on September 3, but a minor injury caused a delay. Since Tony nominee Bertie Carvel departed on September 1, the role was played by Chris Hoch.

The producers of the Tony Award-winning Matilda The Musical announced last week that the original Broadway cast recording will be produced by Michael Croiter and Christopher Nightingale for Broadway Records/Yellow Sound Label and will be released digitally and be available at the Shubert Theatre beginning Friday, September 27, 2013. The CD will be available in stores on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. The album can be pre-ordered at www.BroadwayRecords.com. Amazon.com pre-order coming very soon. The Tony Award-winning Broadway hit MATILDA THE MUSICAL recently celebrated its 100th performance at the Shubert Theatre, and according to the Sydney Telegraph's Jo Litson, the show will continue to thrive, opening in Australia in 2015.
