The award-winning Reboot Theatre Company, in association with Theatre Off Jackson, presents Anyone Can Whistle; where society, government, and religion are lampooned in this unconventional satire of small town life.
This wacky, intelligent, and highly unconventional musical points ahead to Stephen Sondheim's groundbreaking work in the 1970s, even as it keeps a foot firmly rooted in musical theatre’s “golden age.” Anyone Can Whistle tells the story of a corrupt mayor who fakes a miracle to revitalize her bankrupt town, and the ill-fated romance between the rational nurse, out to expose the fraud, and the easygoing doctor who is determined to enjoy the chaos that it brings.
Directed by Jasmine Joshua (Founding Artistic Director, Reboot’s Cabaret), music direction by Kaelee Bolme (Stance Ensemble), and choreography by Harry Turpin (Reboot’s Jesus Christ Superstar, Little Shop of Horrors). Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and book by Arthur Laurents. Performances run March 8-23, 2024 at Theatre Off Jackson (409 7th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104)
Reboot Theatre Company is at 8112 5th Ave. NE, Seattle, WA.
