Beth Henley's The Miss Firecracker Contest (directed by Jeff Richards) is set to be performed at the Paradise Theatre Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30pm and Saturdays at 3:00pm from June 19 - July 5 (no show July 4). Tickets cost $18 Adults/$15 Senior-Military/$8 Students.

This story belongs in the group of Southern Gothic comedies for which Henley is best known. It's heroine, Carnelle, is an irrepressible young woman who thinks that winning the local beauty contest will restore her soiled reputation and make her somebody in her small Mississippi community. The general conclusion the characters reach is that, even if the real you is not the fulfillment of your hopes, you will be more at peace if you learn to define and accept your own self.

Group discounts are available for groups of 20 or more. Tickets may be purchased online at: www.paradisetheatre.org or by calling the Box Office at 253-851-PLAY (7529).
