For its third monthly production, Dorothy's Piano Bar and Cabaret presents two fabulous performers who have known each other well over 20 years, having worked together at Village Theatre in Issaquah and in various clubs in the Pacific Northwest.
Judy Ann Moulton, BroadwayWorld.com Critics Choice Award Winner for Best Theatrical Event of 2010 for her first one-woman show "Judy Sings Judy", will perform her newest cabaret show "From Crayons to Perfume". The show will include songs from the 60's and 70's about life and love made famous by Connie Francis, Lesley Gore, Dusty Springfield, Carole King, Helen Reddy, Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, Melissa Manchester, Lulu, and more!
Mark Shelby has appeared in a wide variety of theatre productions and bands for over 35 years both in the U.S. and abroad, has worked with Jazz bands in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Japan. Mark has played piano bar in New York and Miami Beach, fronted the Rock Band "The Stray Dawgs', been the pianist and vocalist for the jazz band "The Mark Shelby Quartet" and had the pleasure to sing with the fabulous theatrical Jazz trio "The Blue Fedoras." A dancer, actor, director, music director and composer, Mark plays several instruments, and has worked locally with, Stanley Kramer, Floyd Standifer and Buddy Cattlet, to name a few.
Judy Ann Moulton is a member of Actors Equity Association and the Pacific Northwest Cabaret Association, and has been performing on Pacific Northwest stages for over 25 years, including the 5th Avenue, Village Theatre, Bellevue Civic Theatre, and Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre. Judy's rich and expressive voice has been described as "nothing short of amazing" (Seattle Times). Her show "Judy Sings Judy" drew rave reviews, including "...this tireless, people-pleasing performer won the audience's heart, and a well-deserved standing ovation" (www.TalkinBroadway.com), and "...she manages to take songs and embrace them as if they were precious gems... Mark Shelby has recorded with Michael Mish, Mark Berman and recorded the original soundtrack for "City Kid" It was once said of Mark that he is a "Theatre/Jazz vocalist who has mastered many different shades of character individuality, he is equally at home with smooth melodic Standards, sultry Latin grooves or singing in the style of a lost flop-house blues man." His influences range from Motown to Elton John, Kenny Loggins, Sting, Vince Girraldi, Earth Wind and Fire and The Crusaders. Mark is now excited to be working with three bands at the moment; "Oylcan and the Lubricators" (Blues), "Prints of Soul" (Old School Soul) as well as "Copastetic' (Funk, Soul and More).
Judy Ann will be joined by Jon Paul Miller on guitar and Jim Fisher on piano. Mark Will be accompanied by an amazing pianist - himself!
