It is with a very heavy heart that I pass along the news that Peggy Platt, the beloved Seattle comedian and actress, passed away Monday night at the age of 58. Peggy, a staple of the Seattle entertainment community, was known for her brash humor and take no prisoners attitude.

Peggy worked consistently over the years in shows and at clubs and for the past 28 years with her writing/comedy partner, Lisa Koch. For the past several years their "Ham for the Holidays" was a mainstay of the Holiday season. I know it was for me. It wasn't Christmas until I got to hear from the slam poetess, the sassiest member of the Sequim Gay Men's Chorus and, of course, from the diva to end all divas, Mama Euomi of The Spudds.

A Celebration of the life of the beloved Peggy Platt has been scheduled for Monday, April 16th at 7:30pm at ACT Theatre (700 Union Street, Seattle, WA) in The Falls Theatre. To honor Peggy, in lieu of flowers or gifts, please make donations to Planned Parenthood.

Peggy was a comedic force of nature and she will be sorely missed. I'm sure she's up there making all the angels laugh. I can just imagine Mama Euomi putting up her latest Nativity play and refusing to cast Jesus because he's "just not believable in the part".

RIP Peggy.
