The Neutrinos/Sal Pittman/Norwich Arts Centre/Escalator East to Edinburgh present KLANGHAUS. Noise art/rock collaborators create an immersive multimedia salon of surprise and the extreme.

Welcome to KlangHaus, house of sound; part gig, part live art installation, a maverick collision between noise, concealed sound and visual imagery. In Summerhall's evocative Small Animal Hospital art-noise collective The Neutrinos and artist Sal Pittman challenge conventions of the live gig with a 360 degree multi-sensory encounter of shifting sound, colour, electronica, improvisation and disorientation.

Twice daily for small audiences, this enigmatic salon is saturated in sound and souls, soaked in layers of shifting colour, live music, illusion and narrative: disorientating imagery altering observers' perceptions. Very quiet and very loud, KlangHaus blends electronica, experimental-rock, improvisation, animation, shadow montage, projections.

KlangHaus grew out of the band's experiences recording their third album The Butcher of Common Sense working alongside Pittman in Berlin's legendary FunkHaus, a vast former DDR radio studio. Collaborating with a writer, sound technician, video artist and musicians BK&DAD, the sessions revolutionised their attitudes to making music. The result was a limited edition 340 page hand-finished art-book containing the album and 10 inch vinyl, also available as a stand-alone album and download.

The Neutrinos have spent the last 10 years in almost constant states of reinvention. They have released 3 albums, performed around the UK, northern Europe, Canada and the USA. Their music has been used for underground film soundtracks and throughout the feature length Channel 4 documentary The Trials of Amanda Knox.

Sal Pittman is an artist and art director whose work lurks somewhere in the shadows; rich with tactile, off-kilter, unapologetic personality. She works primarily with projectors, photocopiers, typography and montage - combining analogue and digital with an acute attention to detail. Sal works on promos and art directs for 4AD and Mute, bands include Grinderman, Can and most recently with Daughter on their acclaimed Live 4AD Sessions.

KlangHaus has been selected for Escalator East To Edinburgh. Each year Escalator East to Edinburgh helps artists and arts organisations to raise their profile and perform to new audiences as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
