Love. Guts. High School. written by Jeanette Bonner and developed with Desperately Seeking The Exit writer and performer Peter Michael Marino, was inspired by a question posed by American playwright Matt Hoverman, who asked Jeanette Bonner, "What one thing, if it hadn't happened in your life, would have left you a different person than the one you are today?"
Bonner's 60-minute one woman show response to that question, which in 2013 was chosen by Time Out Chicago as one of nine "Best Bets" of the Chicago Fringe festival, now makes its UK debut at Sweet Venues - International 3 at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, today, 31 July - 24 August (not the 11th or 18th) from 16:00 to 17:00.
Set against the backdrop of high school, Jeanette Bonner's biographical coming of age tale Love. Guts High School. tells the story of Bonner's 10 year retrospective journey of love, identity, and the loss of innocence.
Told through a series of stories taken from Bonner's own adolescence-to-adulthood diary entries, the play follows the love, infatuations, laughs and losses of a young Bonner as she journeys through teen years reliving life and decisions made during the awkwardness of her Year 9 first crush to her sassy "Beverly Hills 90210" style teen sexuality.Videos
