EDINBURGH 2018: BWW Q&A- The Lampoons Image

BWW catches up with The Lampoons to chat about bringing House on Haunted Hill to the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Tell us a bit about House on Haunted Hill.

Well Bonjour! Well, This could well be the most ridiculous Late-night show on the fringe. A thumpingly hilarious non-stop Comedy-Horror the likes of which have never been seen before. Plus, you get water pistols, ping pong balls and a Portuguese Ghost Cat!

Who are The Lampoons?

We are scavengers of classic cinema, reimagining forgotten gems using bizarre and eccentric physical clown. We've mounted two full-length Halloween shows to sell-out London audiences and are thrilled to bring 'House on Haunted Hill' to Edinburgh Festival!

Why bring it to Edinburgh?

We did a run of this show last year at The Leicester Square Theatre for Halloween and a man in a blacked out limousine met us at the exit and said "you wanna be a star Kid"? yeah... I think that's what happened... That and audiences came away telling us this show is exactly what the folks of Edfringe love and unexpectedly expect from a bizarre Late-Night Show.

How involved do the audience get?

The moment you walk in you're given ping pong balls and water pistols. You sit down, the show begins and the audience are right there in the story with us. We're experimenting our funnies on you and if you laugh, then we'll go deeper. If not, NEXT.

We believe in play. Nothing is certain when you come and see a Lampoon's show.

Who would you recommend comes to see the show?

Anyone who wants to Dive into the Unknown. It's weird, It's wonderful and it's what the Edinburgh Festival is all about! Plus have you ever seen someone get murdered with pickles....

See the Lampoons perform in their debut Edinburgh show, House on Haunted Hill at Pleasance 10 Dome between 1st and 27th August (not 13th). Tickets and more information:
