Pat Cahill has won various comedy awards, performed several solo showsat the fringe and popped up in TV and radio so he's a familiar face to fans of alternative comedy. Last year's show had the loose theme of
Morris dancing and this year sees Cahill take fishing as his starting point with mixed but enjoyable results.

Cahill has some excellent material on the various types of fishing from fly to line fishing and casts out a some bait for us to catch, although there weren't any takers this time. Cahill takes us back briefly to two 'important' moments in his childhood, fishing with his father and being tested by his teacher as he considers patience and the potential rewards of waiting. Cahill has a number of good songs and The Dog of Positivity appears to help keep the show in a positive frame of mind. The songs are strong and well performed but not all jokes hit the mark. It sometimes felt that Cahill was a little
distracted.

If you've enjoyed Cahill's previous shows you're bound to find plenty to enjoy here and if you haven't he's well worth a look though you may not be entirely sure what you're watching.

Timings and ticket information for Pat Cahill: The Fisherman are available on the edfringe website.
