Tell us a bit about Trolley Girls.
Trolley girls is a two handed comedy show devised, written, directed and performed by us! The show blossomed following a grand reunion in London. We went to school together and so share lots of memories and funny stories! The premise of the show is about friendship, growing up in a small northern town. The girls both work at their local supermarket together -hence the name TROLLEY GIRLS!
As the show developed we realised it's completely silly, rather camp and hilarious! It can be a bit below the belt at times and features a couple of cheeky musical numbers. We multi role in the show playing our mums, boyfriends, other supermarket champs and of course our bonnie selves!
Why bring it to Edinburgh?
We LOVE the fringe. There's such a diverse range of entertainment from sketch to magic to interpretive dance! We wanted to be part of the fun!!
How has audience response been so far?
Ace! People seem to love it which is wicked. The show contains a lot of heart and I think people can really relate to it. Plus it's bloody funny. If we do say so ourselves.
What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?
Trolley Girls is a story. A warm coming of age story. It sets itself apart from other sketch shows as it's not episodic. We have achieved accreditation for the show for the ark of the narrative and the heart behind its themes and story.
Who would you recommend comes to see you?
Anyone who's up for a laugh. We are full of energy and also like being northern. If you're after a show that's fun, energetic, loud at times yet has a real heart to it then come and dance with us!
