Tell us a bit about Can't Think Straight.
Stephen Bailey: Can't Think Straight is my most honest show yet. I am shutting the door on the real world for one hour and I just plan to laugh. We're leaving egos outside and I'm going to cover everything from family, working class life, dating, celebrity. It's louder, prouder and ruder. If you enjoy gossiping in Wetherspoons with your pals and/or Little Mix, you'll enjoy this. It's a show about finally feeling good enough as a comedian, as a boyfriend, as a friend and as a person. It's not about who has the most money, who's the prettiest, who's the most popular. We are ALL good enough.
Why bring it to Edinburgh?
Because I'm ginger and in August I only have two options. The Fringe or Ibiza. The Fringe is kinder to my skin. Plus, the Scots think I'm one of them.
What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?
I do believe in it being MY show or MY message. I believe that this is OUR show and that we are all in it together. I don't talk politics (that's a niche in itself nowadays) and I think the state the world is in we need to laugh more and be kinder to each other. So for one hour we are going to laugh!
Who would you recommend comes to see you?
Everyone. I'm going to come out of the closet right here, right now. I'm mainstream baby and I'm proud. It's 2017.
What do you hope people will take away from your show?
I hope people leave feeling like they can do anything and that they have a new pal in me.
Stephen Bailey Can't Think Straight comes to Laughing Horse @ The Free Sisters at 5:15pm 3rd - 27th August (except 14th) as part of the Edinburgh Fringe.
