Tell us a bit about How to be Good at Everything

How to be Good at Everything is a one hour spectacuganza of edutainment, where you WILL learn how to be good at everything. Life hack experts, knowledgeologists and best friends, Katie and Jay will cover all topics, from relationships to good health in the quest to make their audience good at everything. No refunds.

What is the inspiration for the show?

The inspiration for the show is our audience. Witnessing the scores of people all around us who are bad at everything, we realised it is our duty - in our position as complete and utter hacksperts - to turn that around. As any good economist knows, you see a gap in the market, you fill it. We're just filling it with our show.

Why bring it to Edinburgh?

Oh, Edinburgh is just the start. Most people simply cannot grasp just how stupid some people can be. With a few audience members, we've had to begin with tying their shoelaces. Sad really. Eventually we'll need to go global, but we thought that the largest international arts festival on the planet would be a good place to start. We hope to reach as many people as possible, who can take their newly found knowledge back home, attempt to spread the message of our good work, give up (because they're still not as good at everything as us), and refer all their friends to our website (nextbestthingcomedy.com) to find details of our next show and learn for themselves.

What sets it apart from other shows at the fringe?

What sets our show apart from the regular dross of 'theatre' or 'opera', that you can catch at the Festival in any given year, is that How to be Good at Everything is both educational and entertaining. It's a heady mix of compelling divertissement and a good use of your time, because you leave a better person than you arrived. Sure, you might laugh, you may even fall in love (I mean, look at us) but ultimately, we believe you'll come away as the best person you can be: a know-it-all. And that's priceless (no refunds).

Who would you recommend comes to see you?

We would recommend that absolutely everyone come see our show. After all, there's no limit to people's stupidity, and it's the one unifying factor that brings all humanity together. But we would say that young people might like it - you know, millennials - so that we can try to fix the mess they've already made of their lives. Ladies might enjoy witnessing two strong and successful women host a show that revolves around what would once have been a male jurisdiction i.e. the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge. Finally, Jay has asked me to say, 'attractive men'. I guess she means because good-looking people are usually stupid. Thanks Jay.
