Tell us a bit about Near Life Experience.
I'm a twenty year old stand up comedian who is just a bit of a lad, and I'm taking my second hour up to the Edinburgh fringe. This is reading like a tinder profile.
Why bring it to Edinburgh?
Well it's the biggest arts festival in the world, that's enough to make any performer want to do it. The city just lights up and it feels magical who wouldn't want to be part of that?
What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?
The fact that I'm twenty and have already got a lot of gigs under my belt. It's a huge advantage, I can take things that other comics don't usually see and make them funny and more accessible to everyone. It's a huge part of what I do. This year's show is also fairly personal however it remains funny over everything.
Who would you recommend comes to see you?
Anyone, however the people who will enjoy it the most will age from about 16-30, I talk about drugs and what it's like to be a millennial. The best responses I get at a show is definitely university gigs. So if you're my age and looking for something to do in Edinburgh at 8:15 pop along to the gilded balloon wee room.
Are there any other shows you're hoping to catch at the festival?
I absolutely will be, hugely recommend Mark Nelson who is one of the best joke writers in the business. Kai Humphries who is a master story teller. Gareth Waugh is doing his debut hour and is one of the most promising up and comers on the circuit and so is Tom Lucy who undoubtedly will be a house hold name in a few years.
