Tell us a bit about Mammoth.
It's my fourth solo stand up show, and I like to think it's about the lies I tell myself about my personality. However, people who have seen previews seem to think it's about halloumi, a terrible massage and me showing off that I ran the marathon this year.
Why bring it to Edinburgh?
The Edinburgh Fringe is such an important time in a comedian's year. It gives us a deadline to work towards in what would otherwise be a very unstructured career. This is my 12th and I don't know what I would be doing without it. Having said that, I'm not going in 2018 because I'm going to Las Vegas for a metal festival.
What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?
It's the only one with me in it. Also there is a musical finale that has to be seen to be believed. I'm looking forward to seeing it especially, as I haven't tried it or come up with it yet.
Who would you recommend comes to see you?
Gal Gadot.
Are there any other shows you're hoping to catch at the festival?
So many. My list so far includes...Dan Antopolski, David Trent, Fern Brady, Gareth Richards, Jessica Fostekew, Kiri Pritchard McClean, Suzi Ruffell, Tom Neenan, Erin McGathy....and it goes on and on. I've already seen brilliant early previews from Rhys James and John Robins and heard Ahir Shah's through a wall and it was still fantastic.
Ed Gamble performs Mammoth at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, at the Pleasance Upstairs, from 2nd 27th August at 7:15pm, ahead of a nationwide tour. More info and tickets are available at www.edgamble.co.uk.
