Cat Loud begins her performance by stating that everything she is about to tell us is true. She was walking home one night and took a wrong turn. She met a white rabbit and he took her down the rabbit hole into a hidden speakeasy. I do have my doubts about the veracity...

Swigging from a hip flask, Cat Loud takes us through a 50-minute cabaret set. She has a wonderful jazz voice and performs new arrangements of the likes of "Light My Fire". Between songs she tells us more about the people that she meets in the speakeasy, with a couple of amusing anecdotes added in.

Cat Loud's Wayward Girls is pleasant enough, but it isn't a particularly exciting evening. The venue is ideal for the style of cabaret and gives a very intimate setting.

Cat Loud's Wayward Girls runs at The Space until 27 August.
