Lady Pamela More is a fashion columnist with very little interest in politics. After being advised that a socialite like her could influence people and hearing how World War 2 would personally affect her, she decides to put her journalistic skills to better use and is recruited as a spy by M15.

Rebecca Dunn is a confident performer and it is a pity she doesn't have more to work with. For the duration of the show, very little happens on stage and my attention started to drift. The highlight was when Lady Pamela becomes a spy and there is a little more action onstage, although it is brief. Agent Of Influence could make an interesting radio drama, as the dialogue is very descriptive.

I feel as though Agent Of Influence is trying to do too much. There are a number of different storylines and themes to follow and in this one-woman show it just becomes overwhelming. While the concept for the piece is excellent, the execution just falls a bit flat.

Agent Of Influence runs at the Underbelly until 28 August.
