BWW speaks to Rachel Jackson about her 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show Force of Nature.
Tell us a bit about Force Of Nature
Force of Nature is my second solo show. It's inspired from my first solo show Memoirs of a Bunny Boiler, and the same heightened version of myself. But this time talking not just about my disastrous love life, but life in general, my time at drama school and some silly situations I've been in over the years. What inspired the show? I've been called lots of things in my life and 'force of nature' is probably the nicest. I wanted to do something as intense as Memoirs of a Bunny Boiler, but more varied in the topics.Have you been to the Edinburgh festival before? Do you think you know what to expect? Yes, I did it last year for 21 nights in a row. I was beyond exhausted, but it's something every performer should do in their lives. I've definitely caught the comedy bug now and want to do as many gigs as possible. I just love how every show is different, because every audience is different. It's exhilarating. And also petrifying. I think you have to have something seriously wrong with you to want to do this as a career. And this year I'm doing 23 nights in a row. I bet money I'll start smoking again.'Rachel Jackson: Force of Nature' runs at Sportsters Bar, Market Street, 6-28th Aug at 12.30pm. Ticket information is available on the edfringe website.
