BWW speaks to Sirqus Alfon ahead of their run at the 2016 Edinburgh Festival Fringe with I Am Somebody.

What can you tell us about I Am Somebody?

It's a result of experimenting with crowd participation and technology in ways you've never seen on stage before. Using sound, visuals and very much the whole crowd we're creating a room full of power, confidence and surprises. We're also three weird characters sometimes getting lost in the search for the limelight, but with a tremendous love for the audience.

How has the company evolved with the use of technology?

Technology makes the show more inclusive. With cameras and microphones aimed at the audience we're proving that everybody is a star. We're creating magic moments with technology, challenging your brains and your sense of humour.

Who would you recommend comes to see I Am Somebody?

Anyone with a smartphone and/or a sense of humor.

Is it something the audience can get involved in?

It's always been hard to label what we do because our concept contains everything from live music to lasers and physical comedy. But one thing that has been consistent in our productions is the aim to involve EVERYBODY in the crowd. Our methods to do so include you won't have seen before.

What's next for the show after Edinburgh?

We have produced a special tour that's taking place in September. We're going to take I Am Somebody to different locations in Stockholm that we've picked out, and in each place we're building up the show and giving the people passing by an experience they've never seen in the streets before. Our roots are in street performance so this is going back to where we started, but with all the special effects!

Timings and ticket information for I Am Somebody are available on the edfringe website.
