Jess Robinson has quite the show opener. She starts off singing Bang Bang as Jessie J and then morphs into a whopping 50 other impressions during the track.
There are two game show style wheels onstage, one containing singers/actors and another with song titles. With a possible 64 combinations, I don't imagine audiences will get the same show twice. First up we had Katie Price singing (you couldn't have planned this) Common People. Another treasure from tonight was Shirley Bassey doing Shake It Off.
This show has a huge emphasis on comedy. Yes, the impressions are great but the actual content is brilliant. My personal favourite was Natalie Cassidy (aka Sonia from Eastenders) who kept popping up during the evening. Robinson's impressions are bang on but it is her script writing and comedic timing that really impressed me.
Jess Robinson is incredibly talented and The Rise Of Mighty Voice is a very well written show. An hour almost seems like it isn't long enough and I know I would have liked to hear extended impressions of the ones in the opening number as some were only a few seconds.
