Caroline Rhea has brought her acclaimed children's show The Adventures of Caroline and Mr Clown to the Edinburgh festival. This is an exciting hour of children's entertainment that really gets everybody involved.
Caroline is excellent with the children, asking each child in the audience their name and doing a fantastic job at remembering their names and including them in the show. Audience participation is one of my biggest fears, but I actually found myself a bit disappointed that I wasn't asked to join in as well.
The show is fun and educational, it covers learning the alphabet, why manners are important and even stand up comedy. Caroline asks the children who would like to come onstage and tell a joke and teaches them the tricks of the trade. Mr Clown as well is a huge draw for this show, some of the more reserved children came were more forward in participating when encouraged by the puppet.
This really is an excellent show for children and also very entertaining for parents. The show is listed in the Fringe guide as age 3+ but there were a couple of children who were 2 (Caroline also covered ages as well as names) and they seemed to be really enjoying it as well.
The Adventures of Caroline and Mr Clown runs at the Gilded Balloon. Information on tickets and timings is available here.
