While "let us take you on a journey to the centre of..an office" may not be the most enticing opening to a show, comedy duo Heffernan and Fletcher have produced an exciting hour of theatrical comedy.
Seamlessly changing from Vegas showgirls to business women they manage to cover a multitude of characters. We are introduced to a 50-something spinster who is determined to write an erotic novel, the office worker who thinks everyone is out to sexually harass her and the less than sympathetic HR woman.
A little bit of post-show research tells me that this is actually a fairly new act which I found surprising as they work so well together and the performance is so well executed. The content of the show could be seen as a little random in places, but the whole thing flows brilliantly. It is very physical comedy with a little bit of slapstick.
Clever, original and very very funny, Heffernan and Fletcher are doing everything right on their way to becoming an established theatre act.
Roll It In Sequins is at the Underbelly until August 25th. Information about tickets and timings is available here.
