Annie McGrath (one half of critically acclaimed sketch duo, Twins) presents her highly anticipated debut stand-up show, Annie McGrath: The Seven Ages of An, at 4.45pm from 3rd - 28th August (not 17th) in Bunker One, Pleasance Courtyard.
In a sardonic attempt to expand her acting range, Annie frequently diverts from her stand up to explore seven characters of varying ages. The show addresses a fear of commitment, to life and its expectations, as well as those of being a comedian. It is Annie's deadpan delivery and distinctively lo-fi style that sets her apart from other performers.
Daughter of television presenter and seasoned comedy writer, Rory McGrath, Annie has carved her own path in the comedy world; she has written and performed on ITV2's @elevenish, Channel 4's Girls Go Trolling, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio 4 Extra. She is a two-time finalist for Tickled Pig stand-up competition and was shortlisted for the Funny Women Awards.
Annie has been performing at the Edinburgh Fringe for the past six years. At university, she was a core member of The Leeds Tealights as a writer, performer and producer, who went on to set up Leeds University's Comedy Society. She was part of the Tealights cast that won the Underbelly Sketch Off and The National Student's Best Student Sketch Group Award.
As well as performing her debut show, Annie returns to the Pleasance Courtyard's Beside with Jack Barry for their third Twins hour, Twins: Two Balls In A Bag. Annie will also be appearing in Ed MacArthur's comedy play, Stack, at Bedlam Theatre.
