The Bay Area Musical Improv Festival, taking place October 25-27 in Oakland, showcases 18 acts from across the country, including local talents like BATS Improv. Featuring genres from improvised opera to German synth-pop, the festival highlights the spontaneity of musical improv, where every note and lyric is inspired by audience suggestions. Co-founders Pat Pow-anpongkul and Olivia Puerta express excitement over the festival's diverse lineup and the opportunity for emerging local performers to shine alongside established acts. The event will also include workshops and a musical improv jam featuring a live rock band.
