The Bay Area Musical Improv Festival showcases eighteen acts from across the country, featuring diverse styles of musical improvisation. This inaugural festival, taking place at the All Out Comedy Theater in Oakland from October 25-27, includes performances inspired by everything from Steven Sondheim to German synth-pop. Co-founders Pat Pow-anpongkul, Olivia Puerta, and Molly Robertson express their excitement about the mix of established groups and emerging talent. In addition to nightly performances, the festival offers workshops and culminates in a musical improv jam with a live rock band.
