The New Conservatory Theatre Center is pleased to announce auditions for their 2009-2010 Pride Season production of Good Boys and True, by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and directed by John Dixon.
Set against a backdrop of 1980s privilege and power, Good Boys and True centers on a disturbing scandal at an all-boys prep school which forces a mother to confront the truth about her son and herself. As the scandal unexpectedly twists and turns, mother and son find themselves contending with long-concealed secrets.
Casting the following roles (Non-AEA only):
Brandon Hardy…a seventeen-year-old senior at St. Joseph’s Prep, plays football, athletic and handsome.
Eliza
Beth Hardy…his mother, a doctor in her forties-early fifties.
Coach Russell Shea… Brandon's football coach, a man in his forties- early fifties.
Maddy Emmerson…Elizabeth's sister, a teacher in her thirties- early forties.
Justin Simmons…Brandon's best friend, also a senior at St. Joe’s, somewhat nerdy
Cheryl Moody…seventeen-years-old, works at the mall
*Those interested in the roles of Brandon, Justin and Cheryl must be 18 and over and must look and be able to play high school age*
General auditions will be held on Saturday, May 9th from 2:00-5:00pm. Callbacks will be on Sunday May 10th from 6-9pm. Those selected for callbacks will be asked to read selected scenes from the play.
Auditions will take place at New Conservatory Theater Center 25 Van Ness at Market, Lower Lobby.
Prepare a 2 minute Contemporary dramatic monologue (general auditions only).
Rehearsals will take place from July 6th - August 13th, 2009.
Performance Dates will run from August 14th - October 10th.
Contract (non-union/non-negotiable): $650.00.
