“I Love Paris” is the theme of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra’s April 17th pops performance at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts.  The Symphony returns for their third pops performance in four years, and once again maestro Matthew Garbutt will lead a full symphony orchestra through a program that places a premium on audience accessibility and family fun.  Garbutt has selected a variety of classical and contemporary works that celebrate one of Europe’s most romantic cities, celebrated for its beauty, inspirational light and old world architecture.

“Our presentation of the San Diego Symphony has become a highlight of the season and an audience favorite,” said Michael Rennie, Director of the Poway Center for the Performing Arts Foundation, the not-for-profit organization responsible for booking professional shows at the City-owned Poway Center. “Having a full symphony orchestra in our intimate, 800-seat theater is like having Ringling Brothers set up a three-ring circus in your back yard.  It’s just the sort of one-of-a-kind experience we like to provide.”

The April 17th concert is made possible through a generous gift from Carol and Bill Stensrud.  The Stensruds issued a $10,000 Challenge Grant that was matched by contributions from POW! Foundation members.  Contributions allow the Foundation to keep tickets affordable: $39 adult tickets with youth tickets (18 and under) only $5 (with purchase of each adult ticket).

Tickets are available at www.PowayArts.org or by calling the Poway Center Box Office at 858.748.0505.
