THE ONE-ACT PLAY THAT GOES WRONG at Burbage Theatre Co

After their innovative, daring, and acclaimed 12th Season, Burbage Theatre Co returns for their 13th Season with raucous comedy The One-Act Play that Goes Wrong, by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields of Mischief Theatre, directed by Artistic Director Jeff Church. 

THE ONE-ACT PLAY THAT GOES WRONG will be presented for 13 performances from August 29 through September 22 at Burbage Theatre Co’s Wendy Overly Studio Theatre. 

“We are thrilled to kick off Season 13 with a bang – or rather, a hilarious disaster! A return to what Burbage does best, The One-Act Play that Goes Wrong – with its impeccable timing and broad physical comedy –  promises to have you laughing from start to finish. 

This one-act version of the Broadway sensation The Play that Goes Wrong is the original iteration penned and presented by Mischief Theatre back in 2012 – a tight 75-minute murder mystery presented by the fictional “Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society” that falls apart at every seam and that delivers nonstop, raucous comedy without overstaying its welcome.

This production will feature an excellent ensemble of very funny people, marking the largest collection of Burbage comedians since The School for Lies in 2019. Our design team is equally capable and ready to create a production design that we will gleefully destroy at every performance – undoubtedly adding to the chaos and fun.
