Working with a choreographer and theater director, the musicians found that their physical movement in their performance could be used with a powerful and poignant effect that enhanced the experience of the music for themselves and for the audience.

Choreographer Trajal Harrell presents his dance solo The Return of La Argentina in Prime Time, a performance series presented as part of Mx'd Messages, New York Live Arts' 2017 Live Ideas festival. In his solo, Harrell invites audiences to a fictional archiving of Butoh co-founder Kazuo Ohno's renowned solo Admiring La Argentina as directed by Butoh's other founder Tatsumi Hijikata and dedicated to the famed Spanish dancer Antonia Merce.
