Born in Montreal, Canada, Mel Charlot grew up in a Haitian household where various music genres were part of her daily life. It's no surprise that dance and choreography quickly became integral to defining her creative passion, showcasing a unique ability to inspire and emphasize new and original perspectives. Charlot has made her mark in the entertainment industry for over a decade, transitioning from competitive dance to becoming a professional dancer and now a choreographer, movement coach, and creative director. Her professionalism, creativity, and vision never disappoint!
Charlot's training in hip-hop and commercial dance took her from Montreal to New York and Los Angeles. She has danced for artists such as Lizzo, Chris Brown, Beyoncé, Deborah Cox, P Diddy, Kanye West, Sofia Carson, Meg Donnelly, Fetty Wap, and many others. Her infectious charisma led her to the Broadway stage, where she performed in "Holler If Ya Hear Me" and featured in national advertising campaigns for Jordan/NIKE, L'Oréal, and Makeup Forever. In 2023, Mel was recently nominated, among the world's top choreographers, at the UK Music Video Awards (UKMVA) for Choreography of the Year. Her choreography can be seen on various television shows such as So You Think You Can Dance, Masked Singer, I Can See Your Voice, Lip Sync Battle, and more. She recently danced and assisted in choreography for Lizzo's "Special" world tour. Lately you can catch her as a judge on the highly popular show REVOLUTION, in Canada, as well as a new judge on the french version of Dancing with the stars (Danse avec les stars) in Paris, France.
