The Montalbán Theatre in Hollywood Will Present 12 Pop-up Movies For Groundhog Day & Valentine's Day
The Montalban is a special place. The Ricardo Montalban Foundation became the proud owners and operators of this historic venue in 1999. The building has a glorious history of "firsts" and in 2009, after over seventy years of theatrical, screened and broadcast entertainment inside the theatre, it became the first structure in Hollywood's 21st century to curate entertainment on its rooftop. Between sports-related, high-energy dance, film screenings under the stars and other public and private events, The Montalban will be celebrating its first decade of outdoor activities on its multifaceted rooftop in 2019 - all year long! To kick-off its alfresco decade, it's hosting pop-up movie screenings starting on February 1st, just in time for Groundhog Day, with a trio of Harold Ramis comedies before the official season of Rooftop Movies at The Montalban returns in April. Films will include Animal House (Fri. 2/1), Groundhog Day ON Groundhog Day (Sat. 2/2) and Caddyshack (Sun. 2/3 ). For Valentine's Day The Montalban will host another pop-up with over a week of romance-themed film screenings from Friday, February 8th through Sunday, February 17, 2019. Tickets range in price from $18 to $50. The Montalban is located at 1615 Vine Street, Hollywood, CA 90028. As the infamous date of December 7th approaches, the claustrophobic world of the four lovers and the desperation of the soldiers of G Company splinter amidst an escalating war. The compelling story of men at war along with a fantastic new score is not to be missed. FROM HERE TO ETERNITY plays through October 29.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley has extended its hit holiday musical romance, Daddy Long Legs, created by John Caird (Book) and Paul Gordon (Music & Lyrics). Due to popular demand, Daddy Long Legs will add performances: 8pm, Friday, January 6, and 2pm & 8pm, Saturday, January 7. The production will close after the 8pm performance on January 7.

BWW Review: TheatreWorks Revives an Excellent DADDY LONG LEGS
Like many, I was introduced to the charms of Daddy Long Legs when the show recently became the first Off-Broadway production to stream a performance live on the Internet. Bay Area audiences may have an advantage on the rest of the world, though, as the show had its origins at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley. The company is no stranger to Paul Gordon musicals, having given us an excellent revival of Emma as recent as last December. But Daddy Long Legs is perhaps the most fully realized of Gordon's works, exhibiting both his propensity for story-driven songs and some of his most exquisite ballads and duets.
