Theatre Beyond Broadway proudly announces the highly anticipated revival of Hellish Delights, a gripping play by acclaimed playwright Scott C. Sickles under the direction of Jesse Edward Rosbrow. Originally staged five years ago, this production was among the final shows produced at Shetler Studios before the pandemic forced its closure. Now, Hellish Delights returns to the stage, reigniting its powerful themes and thrilling audiences once more.
Hellish Delights will run at the Chain Theatre, 312 W 36th St, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10018 from May 2 to May 10th. https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/theatre-1171071850/hellish-delights-2025
Directed by Jesse Edward Rosbrow, Hellish Delights delivers a spellbinding mix of sharp wit, dark humor, and emotional depth. Known for his award-winning works that masterfully blend the fantastical with the deeply human, Sickles’ latest play explores the unpredictable costs of our deepest yearnings.
"Scott C. Sickles has crafted a compelling compilation that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats," says Malini Singh McDonald, producer of Theatre Beyond Broadway. "We are thrilled to bring this gripping tale to life and share its thrilling twists and profound insights with theatergoers."
Set in a world where the line between pleasure and peril is razor-thin, Hellish Delights is a collection of four one acts:
Bulletproof Love: Ambrose and Ramona were gonna get married. But then the murder happened, so…
The Fallow Garden: Glynnis and Marie-France are digging a hole in Lavinia Fowler’s garden. They are not planting vegetables.
O, for a Muse of Fire: Lane used to be a composer in love with Vaughn. Vaughn wants Lane to remember her passions. She does.
Somewhere South of Bethlehem: Evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson, Lucrezia Borgia, and the Devil rehearse a Nativity play in Hell.
Hellish Delights features Alyssa Simon (NYT Critics Pick The Marriage Of Alice B. Toklas by Gertrude Stein (Alice) at HERE, The Off-Broadway world premiere on Oct. 7th: In Their Words (Hadas Eilon) at Actors Temple Theatre, The Division (Multiple Roles) for National Queer Theater at Lincoln Center); Amanda LePergola (Life With Althaar), and Brian Silliman (High Fidelity, Hulu, The Better Sister, Amazon, The Baker and the Beauty, ABC).
