Join us for a fabulous Friday night at the movies with Doris Dear, "America's Perfect Housewife"! Once a month, step into a world of classic cinema, cocktails, and camaraderie in the heart of NYC.
Kicking off October 11th with the iconic housewife classic, *The Stepford Wives* (1975). This satirical psychological thriller, directed by Bryan Forbes, follows Katharine Ross as she moves from NYC to the seemingly perfect community of Stepford, only to discover the eerie subservience of the women around her. Written by William Goldman and based on Ira Levin’s novel, this chilling film will have you questioning more than just your cocktail!
On November 15th, we go all out with *Barbarella: Queen of the Galaxy* (1968), a wild sci-fi sex comedy starring Jane Fonda. Directed by Roger Vadim, this cult classic takes you on a galactic adventure as Barbarella searches for the scientist Durand Durand, who holds the key to saving humanity. A spacey, sexy romp not to be missed!
Finally, on December 20th, right before the holidays, cozy up for *Valley of the Dolls* (1967), the ultimate cult classic directed by Mark Robson. Starring Barbara Parkins, Patty Duke, and Sharon Tate, this film follows the lives of three women navigating the entertainment industry and the perils of fame, addiction, and "dolls"—a slang term for downers. It’s a drama-filled rollercoaster perfect for the holiday season.
Doors open at 9:00 PM, with the screenings starting at 9:30 PM. Settle into our comfy banquets and plush chairs, and experience these classic films on our 4K projector with surround sound. Enjoy handcrafted cocktails, including our signature "Doris Dear Cocktail," a delicious twist on a Whiskey Sour, expertly crafted by our fabulous staff.
