Stable Cable Lab Co. and Vera Khodasevich announce the cast and creative team for the workshop production of Accidents Waiting to Happen, a play by Jonathan Libman, directed by Padraic Lillis. Invited presentations for Accidents Waiting to Happen will begin on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at IRT Theater and are scheduled to run through Sunday, June 8, 2014. The results of the workshop production - including the actors' experience with the work, the aesthetics of the director and designers, and the audience's feedback - will be invaluable to the development of this new play. This project was developed, in part, through Kori Rushton and the IRT 3B Development Series.
Accidents Waiting to Happen tells the story of Ernesto - a teenager who works at a supermarket near you. He tries to prepare himself for fatherhood while his pregnant teenage girlfriend, Eunice, demands his emotional availability and Breyers Ice Cream (her parents won't help con nada -"You break it, you buy it."). When Ernesto enters into a risky arrangement with a male customer, things become explosive...
The cast features Danielle Beckman, Angel Dillemuth, Alexander Flores, Alexander Lambie, Emma Ramos, William Sturdivant, and Kara Young.
The scenic design for the workshop production is by Zachary Sitrin, lighting design by Katy Atwell, costume design by Natalie Loveland, and sound design by Andy Evan Cohen.

Jonathan Libman (Playwright) is a playwright and director born and raised near Penn Station in New York City. His plays include Accidents Waiting to Happen (upcoming at IRT Theater), Please Leave the Light On (Seven Devils Playwriting Conference Finalist), The Metro Section, The Men Upstairs, Life Drawing and the Human Body, Self-Generated Friction, and many more one acts and short plays. Jonathan's work has been performed at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, New Dramatists, The Actors Studio, Provincetown Playhouse, Cherry Lane, The Medicine Show, and The Slipper Room. An excerpt of his full length play Please Leave the Light On was presented in Barefoot Theatre Company's ROCKAWAY, a collection of plays to benefit Hurricane Sandy Victims. It featured Craig "muMs" Grant, Arthur Kriklivy, Amelia Campbell-Arkin, and was presented alongside some of New York's City's best playwrights including Stephen Adly Guirgis, Jose Rivera, Lyle Kessler, Jesse Eisenberg, and many more. Jonathan is a member of the Actors Studio Playwrights/Directors Unit, was a participant of The 24 Seven Lab, and has been a Resident Playwright at Stable Cable Lab Co., Barefoot Theater Company, and currently, the Dramatic Question Theater. He is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts Dramatic Writing Program. Padriac Lillis (Director). This past year, Pardraic Lillis directed Lindsay Joy's RISE AND FALL OF A TEENAGE CYBERQUEEN (Awarded NY IT Award for Outstanding Director and Outstanding Production), Lee Kaplan's solo show BULLY (awarded NY International Fringe Festival's Overall Excellence Award for Directing), Kelly Kinsella's WHEN THOUGHTS ATTACK for the Cell Theater and he co-wrote with Kelly HOW TO WRITE A ONE PERSON SHOW for SoloNOVA Theater Festival. Other plays include: Scott Hudson's play SWEET STORM, Adina Taubman's award winning solo show A LINE IN THE SAND (a docudrama based on the school shootings at Columbine), and the premiere production of Spare Change Productions', THE DIRTY TALK at Center Stage, New York (nominated for NY IT Award Outstanding Director), As a playwright he has been produced nationally. His plays TWO THIRDS HOME is published by Dramatists Play Services, his play LIGHTS UP ON THE FADE OUT was awarded top 10 plays of 2011 in L.A. Both of those scripts along with THE LIVING ROOM SERIES: THREE SHORT PLAYS and his solo show HOW TO SURVIVE CRACK ADDICTION are published on Indie Theater Now. Padraic was named one of Indie Theater Now's People of the Year in 2013. He has taught at NYU's Department of Dramatic Writing. He helped design and oversaw the education programming for Labyrinth Theater Company for ten years. Padraic was awarded the Dayton Hudson Distinguished Artist Fellowship to be in residence at Carlton College. He is the Artistic Director of The Farm Theater and a life long Yankee fan.

Vera Khodasevich (Producer) is a producer and actor from Brooklyn, New York. Most recently she produced the premiere of Second Skin by Amy Gijsbers van Wijk, and is in the midst of producing the inaugural #NextGen portion of the Gi60 International One Minute Play Festival. Vera is the marketing director at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.
