The 2014 Midtown International Theater Festival culminates its 15th anniversary celebration with the MITF Awards recognizing the best of this summer's MITF and the February 2014 Midwinter Madness Short Play Festival. The night will be packed with special guests, outstanding performances and even a few surprises - including a special guest host! The event is Monday night, October 27 at the Actor's Temple.

John Chatterton has always believed in celebrating creativity in all it many forms so - like any awards show - this one celebrates the best plays and musicals in full length, short subject and staged reading format, best actors and actresses (including one-person showings); best script; music & lyrics; and much more, but the MITF also highlights the ingenuity it takes to create unique production elements within a festival format: best lighting, sound, costumes, concept, even marketing, and most dedicated!

Year 2015 is SWEET 16 for John Chatterton. The once bachelor Midtown International Theatre Festival now has a full family of arts programs: The Short Play Lab, presenting the best in brief works of art; Midwinter Madness, series of innovative one-act works presented during the season's "off" months; the new MITF Children's Theatre Festival, presenting plays and musicals for young audiences; Cabaret MITF - spotlighting Broadway and cabaret performers; and the Commercial Division, presenting works whose production values and subject matter are the stuff for Off- [and on] Broadway; and, of course, the founding Midtown International Theatre Festival, prolific producer John Chatterton's brainchild, celebrating the diversity of theatre and has become a leader in presenting powerful works from around the world.
