LaVon Fisher-Wilson and the Vonettes presents THE QUEENS OF FUNK AND SOUL Concert at The Triad. The Triad Theatre is located at 158 West 72nd Street, New York, NY. The show will take place on Sunday July 28, 2019, 7:00pm.

LaVon Fisher-Wilson (Broadway's Newsies, Lysistrata Jones, The Color Purple, Chicago and the upcoming production ofThe Black Clown at Lincoln Center) will present a one-night only cabaret performance of The Queens of Funk and Soul at The Triad Theatre on July 28, 2019.

The concert, featuring "LaVon and the Vonettes" will pay homage to such funk and soul luminaries as Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner and many more. It promises to be a foot stomping, hand clapping, tail feather shaking night!

LaVon-Fisher Wilson has appeared on Broadway in Newsies (Medda Larkin), Lysistrata Jones, The Color Purple (Sophia u/s. Swing), Chicago (Mama Morton) and off-Broadway in CHIX 6 (Ima Mazing). She recently performed at this year's Kentucky Derby Festival. Regional credits include Hairspray; Hello Dolly!; Beehive; Rocky Horror; Smokey Joe's Café; The Who's Tommy; Dreamgirls; Once on This Island; Jelly's Last Jam (Suzi Award); Crowns. She holds a BFA from Milikin University and an MFA from the University of Florida. This July LaVon will be appearing in The Black Clown, a poem by Langston Hughes at Lincoln Center and in August in I'm in the Super You at Open Jar Studios.
