VIDEO: AVENUE Q Salutes Gene Wilder, Recreates Classic YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN Scene

The world was saddened yesterday to learn of the passing of beloved film star and theatre actor Gene Wilder.

In a released statement, Wilder's nephew, JorDan Walker-Pearlman, revealed that his uncle did not want his struggle with Alzheimer's disease to be made public, for fear of taking away some smiles from the world.

So the gang at Off-Broadway's AVENUE Q saw fit to honor Wilder with humor, recreating a classic moment from YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN.

That's Jason Jacoby and Nicky in the Gene Wilder role of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, Elizabeth Ann Berg and Kate Monster in the Teri Garr role of Inga and Nick Kohn in the Marty Feldman role of Igor.

Adults love Avenue Q, but they seem a little, er, fuzzy on whether it's appropriate for kids. We'll try to clear that up. Avenue Q is great for teenagers because it's about real life. It may not be appropriate for young children because Avenue Q addresses issues like sex, drinking, and surfing the web for porn. It's hard to say what exact age is right to see Avenue Q- parents should use their discretion based on the maturity level of their children. But we promise you this- if you DO bring your teenagers to Avenue Q, they'll think you're really cool.
