The world famous Carnegie Deli's sandwich inauguration ceremony for the Off-Broadway hit comedy musical memoir, A JEW GROWS IN BROOKLYN took place today, May 17. Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz proclaimed the day A JEW GROWS IN BROOKLYN day and participated in the sandwich naming with the star and creator Jake Ehrenreich.
A JEW GROWS IN BROOKLYN returns to Off Broadway after a highly successful national tour and a best-selling book based on the show, released by "The Chicken Soup For the Soul" publishers.
The sandwich, corned beef, pastrami and turkey with lettuce and Russian dressing on rye, topped with a broccoli flower, has now made its way into the Carnegie Deli's gastronomical menu.
