Lynx Ensemble will co-produce Bill Bowers' phenomenal solo show IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING in the 2013 International Fringe Festival in Edinburgh next month! But before Bill heads off to this grand adventure, you can support him a bit closer to home at 59E59 Street's East to Edinburgh Festival.

IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING, written and performed by Bill Bowers and developed with and directed by Martha Banta, will play July 12 and 13 -- Sold Out!, July 19 at 9pm, July 20 at 4pm, and July 26 and 27 at 9pm at 59E59 Theatres: 59 East 59th Street between Park & Madison Avenues, NYC.

Lynx Ensemble Theater is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that explores the nature of identity, exploding stereotypes and engendering empathy and understanding between diverse people and communities.

Lynx Ensemble Theater was created in 2003 by Mark O'Connell and Aileen Barry, two actors who recognize that the phenomenon of typecasting pervades both art and life. Lynx Ensemble uses theater to challenge stereotypical and limiting concepts of identity, concepts that inhibit both our artists and our audiences. Guided by what we believe is both an artistic and ethical imperative, Lynx Ensemble nurtures an environment in which artists enjoy expanded possibilities, discover new strengths, and, in rebellion against the restrictions of "the business," honor their differences by uncovering eccentricities, honing divergent abilities and viewpoints, and proclaiming their most authentic selves -- so that our audiences can follow suit.

The Lynx Ensemble is not confined to a self-selecting in-crowd. We engage audiences of non-typical theatergoers whose diverse experiences add insight and enriching perspective to pre- and post-performance dialogues. We charge audiences to take creative, empathic action to transform the world, extending their theatrical experiences beyond the confines of the theatre and into their real lives. In our approach to cultivating new plays and re-conceiving established works, Lynx challenges social norms and other forces limiting free expression of identity. Our mission includes, but is not limited to, nontraditional and colorblind casting. Lynx Ensemble's programming has included mainstage productions, a reading series, workshops of new plays as well as talkbacks and panel discussions held in tandem with performances.

Lynx Ensemble Theater is a member of A.R.T./New York and a recipient of grant awards from the Nancy Quinn Fund, the Katherine Dalglish Fund, the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, the Arch and Bruce Brown Foundation, and the Ernest O. Reaugh Foundation.
