The Missoula Community Theatre is thrilled to open the 2023-2024 season with an OPEN AUDITION for Mel Brooks’ musical, Young Frankenstein, on Sunday, August 27th from Noon to 4PM with call-backs immediately following. There are 18-20 onstage roles to be cast for people of all genders, ages 18 and older. The audition takes place at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts. Please use the Main street entrance and proceed to the 3rd floor to complete the audition form. Public performances are scheduled for October 19-22 and 26-29, 2023.
Young Frankenstein is a classic Mel Brooks’ comedy, rated PG-13 Parental Guidance Recommended due to adult humor, sexual references and innuendoes. Casting is open to all those 18 and older and no previous experience is necessary. Named roles to be cast include Dr. Frankenstein, Inga, Igor, Frau Blücher, and of course…the Monster. All gender representations are welcome for these named roles as well as the ensemble parts, including Gravediggers, Villagers, Medical Students and others. The audition process involves singing, cold readings, and a dance/movement segment. Those with tap-dancing skills are encouraged to audition. Young Frankenstein is under the direction of Rosie Seitz Ayers. Arielle Nachtigal will be the music director and Colleen Rosbarsky will provide the choreography. Rosie Seitz Ayers has many directing credits to her name, most recently as co-director of MCT’s Matilda the Musical. She’s a Theatre Director and Teaching Artist, often seen teaching in the Missoula County Public Schools (MCPS), Sussex School, and with her comedy partner Teresa Waldorf.
