Brown Rice Productions, in association with Happy Accidents Theatre Company is seeking performers for both lead and ensemble roles in an extended run of Graham Brown’s immersive dance party theatre work You.
The show will take place in a 5-room empty retail store-turned-nightclub in Provo, UT. It will open September 19th and run every Friday and Saturday through at least the end of October. All roles are double cast, splitting nights of performance with another person.
THE MOST IDEAL CANDIDATE will be proficient in:
• Collaborative creative process
• Gutsy post-modern contemporary dance performance
• Contact improv/partnering at high velocities
• Street movement styles
• Acting, improvisation, audience interaction
Different roles call for different levels of proficiency. We are interested in diverse artists with high professionalism and willingness to take risks. We are interested in classical and contemporary dancers that can freestyle, urban dancers who can pick up choreography, actors who are interested in physical performance, and anyone in between.
CONTRACT
Rehearsals will be held Monday through Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Leads need to be prepared to start August 3, ensemble- mid August. Specific dates will depend on casting and the course of the rehearsal process. All rehearsals will take place in the performance space in Provo. The contract is indefinite, depending on how successful the run of performances is.
PAYMENT
Performers will be paid an honorarium for the rehearsal period and a per-show artist fee.
