Workshop for a new play by Andrew Hall, 'Til Love Do Us Part. Through an original collaboration of words, music, and dance, ‘Til Love Do Us Part tells two stories at once. Based on a true story, the first shows a glimpse into the seventy-year relationship of two grief-struck souls, John and Virginia Walker. Lost in their own lonely worlds, in an unlikely circumstance, they connect at an unseen graveyard. This connection, which grows to be anything but simple, becomes the heart of the piece. The second is the story of a mysterious, but naïve, curious, and confused young girl, left alone in the darkness, forced to watch the relationship of John and Virginia deepen into the ground. Through the eyes of this young girl, their story comes alive.
JOHN WALKER: male, 18-25, quiet quirky loner with a dark past, a writer, engages in a long-lasting love/hate relationship with Virginia. Must be able to physically play a character aging from 19-90.
VIRGINIA WALKER: female, 18-25, loud, self-destructive, complicated, quirky, engages in a long-lasting love/hate relationship with John. Must be able to physically play a character aging from 18-89.
YOUNG GIRL: female, 18+, non-speaking, must appear to be around age 9, prior dance / movement experience preferred
Auditions will be Thursday, June 14th at 6pm and Friday, June 15th at 2pm. Please email tldupny@gmail.com for specific times and location. Sides will be provided.
All roles must be able to move well, please come prepared to move. Actors must be available to rehearse and perform in NYC. No pay.
