August 4 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Marblehead Little Theatre’s production of The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui is looking for a few more actors….
Master of Ceremonies – charismatic performer/carnival barker who kicks the evening off. Owns tthe first scene, then is takes smaller roles (Judge/Minister/Grocer) in three or four other scenes. A smaller part than it sounds, but very fun. (M 50+)
Greenwool – a mobster who is also a singer. Smaller role – not too many lines, but strong onstage presence. Sings a (very) short ditty in one scene. Brecht calls for a baritone, but a tenor could do it. Basic ukulele skills a plus, but not required. (M 30+)
Dockdaisy – a mob girl. Not a floozy. Dockdaisy provides alibis, false testimony, and dramatic(!) portrayals as needed. Two very memorable moments, plus other lines here and there. A small, great role for an actor who can bring the funny. (F 20s-40s)
These roles require some rehearsals in late July/early August, ramps up in late August/September. Tech in mid September, opens Sept 27 plays through October 13 (12 performances over three weekends)
