Children and Teens Encouraged to Audition for July Production
Young Footliters invites children and teens to audition for the July 25-27 production of the musicalThe Wizard of Oz, directed by Krista Neumann. Auditions are Saturday, May 17 from 9am-1pm andSunday, May 18 from 12:30pm-3:30pm in the lower level of the Coralville Public Library. Eligible ages are children entering first grade this fall through those graduating high school this spring.
This full musical production will feature a large cast of familiar characters, including Dorothy, the Witch, Scarecrow, Lion, and Tin Man, Munchkins and other magical residents of Oz.
Those interested in auditioning should sign up for an audition slot by visiting

www.youngfootliters.wordpress.com. Auditioners should prepare 16 bars of a song and bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Those auditioning are encouraged, but not required, to sing something from The Wizard of Oz. Auditioners may be asked to do a cold reading as well, and everyone should be prepared to move and learn some basic dance choreography.
Auditions are competitive; Young Footliters will cast as many children and teens as feasible but cannot guarantee all will be cast.
Performances are at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 27. The participation fee will be $75 per actor.
