SCERA and UVU announce Sept. 1-2 auditions for co-produced pioneer musical “The Trail Of Dreams

SCERA Center for the Arts and Utah Valley University are co-producing an original musical about the trek of the Utah pioneer written by James Arrington, Marvin Payne and Steven Kapp Perry called “The Trail of Dreams.”

The show will be directed by James Arrington and play November 13-21 @ 7:30pm with 2:00pm matinees on Saturdays November 14 and 21 at SCERA Center for the Arts in Orem.

Music auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 1 from 6:00-9:00pm. Auditioners should prepare 16 measures of a folk song. Sing acappella, bring your own accompanist or IPOD playback available. All roles are singing roles. No appointment is necessary to audition. A resume and headshot is helpful, but not required.

Reading auditions will follow on Wednesday, September 2 from 6:00-9:00pm. Some accents (English, Irish, Scottish, Norwegian) desirable.

Auditions will be held in Room 201 at SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem.

Casting needs include: Girl ages 5 to 7; Girl ages 11 to 13; Boy ages 14 to 17; Five men in their 20’s; Five women in their 20’s; Five mature men (ages 30 to 60); and four mature women (ages 30 to 60).
