DETAILS AND AUDITION INFORMATION

First Rehearsal: August 30

Previews: October 21 – 27

Performances: October 28 through November 28. Thursdays – Sundays.

Possible extension in December.

***We are conducting in-person auditions for young performers.

Please prepare sixteen bars of your favorite Broadway song that best shows off your singing ability - and your personality!

During this phase, performers must complete a required vocal call on either Saturday, July 24 from noon to 3 p.m. or Sunday, July 25 from noon. to 3 p.m.

Bring prepared sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Absolutely no tracks, please.

(Sixteen bars is about the length of a verse and a chorus.)

CASTING BREAKDOWN

NOTE: We are open to all ethnicities. If you do not fall within the age range, you can still be considered as long as you appear that age.

NATHANIEL STRAUSS – Age 10-14, Vocal Range A3 – D5, awkward, shy, and by all appearances scared of his own shadow, but grows into a hero. Imagine Ichabod Crane as a child.

THERESA STRAUSS – Age 10-14, Vocal Range A3 – F5, all kinetic energy, dreams of being a ballerina, cut short before her prime. A bossy but loving big sister to Nathaniel.

CLARA STAHLBAUM – Age 10-14, Vocal Range A3 – C5, “a thin specter,” Coppelius’s ward, recently orphaned. She eventually discovers a source of inner strength.

SYNOPSIS

Drawn from the nightmarish fantasy of E.T.A. Hoffmann, author of The Nutcracker, comes a new and darkly comic musical tale – THE SANDuring this phase, performers must complete a required vocal call on either Saturday, July 24 from noon to 3 p.m. or Sunday, July 25 from noon. to 3 p.m.
DMAN. When the wife of an ingenious German clockmaker engages a new nanny to care for their two children, a series of bizarre and unnatural events begin to unfold. As the family is thrust ever deeper into chaos, the sinister forces at play are gradually revealed – forces from which only the children may be able to save them.
