The Rose To Host Open Auditions For The Entirety of Its
2016-2017 Season On May 3
The Rose Theater will host an audition for all adult roles in its 2016-2017 productions by appointment on Sunday, May 1 beginning at 5PM with callbacks for its first two productions, Goodnight
Moon and Shrek, on Monday, May 2. Both Goodnight
Moon and Shrek are musicals and actors interested in these productions should come prepared to share a selection of a song of their choice.
Adult actors of all types are welcome to audition and must come to The Rose Theater, 2001 Farnam Street. Performers can prepare a monologue or conduct cold readings from scripts in next season. Singers should be ready to perform at least 16 bars of a song. An accompanist will be provided.
Adult actors are being given an opportunity to skip future open calls for each show in the 2016-2017 season if they audition on May 1. The Rose will then callback actors based on availability and appropriateness for specific productions. Most productions involve daytime rehearsals and performances, but at least two do not. Preliminary rehearsal schedules for all productions will be available at the season auditions. This is a paid position for adult actors. Minority actors are needed for lead roles. Roles are available for adult actors of all ages and genders at this time. Youth auditions will be held on a show by show basis at later dates.
Goodnight
Moon will have daytime rehearsals and performances August 8-September 18, 2016. Shrek will have evening and weekend rehearsals September 6-24 and daytime/weekend performances September 26-October 16, 2016.
