6:30 pm – 9:30 pm.
Auditions will be held at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, 4990 Glenway Avenue in West Price Hill.
For The Marvelous Wonderettes
Requirements: Adult Female performers are needed (20 – 35 years of age). Auditionees should be prepared to sing a song from the popular repertoire of the late 1950’s or a musical theater selection (bring sheet music for the accompanist in your key). Will read from the script and be tested for dance ability (dress appropriately).
MUST HAVE A RESUME listing theatrical experience in order to audition. A headshot/picture is appreciated but not required. Please prepare 16 bars of a song that best showcases vocal ability.
Please note: No more than two conflicts will be accepted during the rehearsal process for this production.

The Marvelous Wonderettes takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet the Wonderettes, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves, we are treated to the girls performing such classic ‘50s and ‘60s songs as “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” “Lipstick on Your Collar,” “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,” “It’s My Party,” and over 20 other classic hits! You’ve never had this much fun at a prom and you will never forget The Marvelous Wonderettes—a must-take musical trip down memory lane!

Performances run Thursday 7:30 pm.; Friday and Saturday 8:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
All roles are paid positions. No roles have been precast.
Characters include 4 Women:
BETTY JEAN – Female. Betty Jean is the self-anointed clown of the group, always vying for attention from her best friend Cindy Lou. Her hair is red/auburn. (Alto with strong low range.)
CINDY LOU – Female. Cindy Lou is the bad girl of the group. It seems that things always go her way, making Betty Jean crazy. (Mezzo Soprano with belt–sings lead on many songs.)
MISSY – Female. Always the over-achiever of the group, Missy is the one to cover for mistakes and is always ready to jump in and save the day. She has been best friends with Suzy since elementary school. (Soprano with wide range and very high vocals.)
SUZY – Female. Gum-chewing Suzy is happy-go-lucky, a little giddy and a little silly. She finds great pleasure in everything she does; the sillier it is, the more fun she finds it. Her best friend is Missy. (Mezzo Alto with a sweet, soulful sound and big belts.)

Requirements: Adult performers of all ages are needed. Children to play the roles of the Von Trapp children needed. Children should be at least 8 years old (and must be able to read and follow instructions).

Auditionees are to prepare a one minute monologue that would be consistent with the characters and period of the show and to prepare one song, also reflecting the style of the show.

The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved musical. When a postulant proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain. Upon returning from their honeymoon they discover that Austria has been invaded by the Nazis, who demand the Captain's immediate service in their navy. The family's narrow escape over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of the most thrilling finales ever presented in the theatre. Classic songs include: “Sixteen Going on Seventeen”, “Edelweiss”, “My Favorite Things” and the anthem, “Climb Every Mountain”.
