Show Synopsis:
Poor Jack Worthing is in a pickle: his responsibilities at his beautiful estate in the English countryside call for him to be societally above reproach, yet his heart yearns for the decadent pleasures of London, no matter how un-virtuous these delights may seem to his constituents in Hertfordshire. How to fix this? Why not invent a conveniently wicked younger brother who constantly needs rescuing from London’s dens of iniquity? Surely this will lead to no humorous complications further down the road….

CAST OF CHARACTERS:

Jack Worthing (mid 20s-mid 30s)
A restless young man of London society who
often escapes his social responsibilities thought the invention of a
invalid friend that he needs to attend to. He lives a double life between
the city and the country through this friend as well as a fictional and
mischievous brother named Jack. He has a country home and secret young
ward (cecily). He is in love with Gwendolyn Fairfax and trying to convince
her mother, the brash and controlling Lady Bracknell that he is a suitable
match for her daughter

Algernon Montcrieff (mid 20s-mid 30s)
Best friend of Jack and cousin / nephew to Gwendolyn and Lady Bracknell
respectively. He is an idle dandy and finds all things amusing. An
extremely witty and mischievous young man.

Gwendolyn Fairfax (late teens-mis 20s)
A sophisticated young lady of London
society. She is madly in love with Jack-whom she believes to be called
Earnest-which is the basis of her feelings for him.

Cecily Cardew (teens)
Jack's ward, she lived a quiet and protected life at
Jacks country home. She loves romance and despises her studies. She is
romantic and dreamy and, like her counterpart Gwendolyn, wishes only to
marry a man named Earnest.

Miss Prism (30s to 50s)
The picture perfect Victorian English Governess,
except for her secret life as a novelist and her attraction to Dr
Chasable. Prism proves to be the link that sets the identity confusions to
right.

Dr Chausable ( 30s-50s)
The local vicar near Jacks country home. He is
delightful bachelor eventually wooed by Miss Prism.

Lane (30s-50s)
Algernon's man servant. Like all good servants he is the ears
and eyes for his employer and provides wry humor in the wake of the
gentleman's plotting

Merriman (20s-50s)
Jacks butler at the country estate.
