Lakewood Cultural Center and Missoula Children’s Theatre present
Auditions for “The Amazing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe” at 4 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27
Children in grades K-12 are welcome to audition; no experience required
An audition will be held for the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) original musical adaptation of “Robinson Crusoe” on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at the Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S. Allison Parkway. Children in kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Registration is open from 3:30 to 4 p.m., and those auditioning should plan to stay until 6:15 p.m. or longer. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition. Rehearsals will continue Tuesday through Friday evenings and Saturday morning.
Among the roles to be cast:
·Robinson Crusoe.
·Crusoe’s sole companion, a goat named Wilson.
·Leonard the Leopard, Friday’s Family, the Oscar Octopus Octet and a family of goats.
·The very hairy Frowny-Face Tribe and the colorful chameleons.
Assistant directors ages 10 and older will also be selected from the audition to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities. The MCT touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The $70 registration fee for participation will be assessed only to those children accepted into the program and includes two $10 tickets to the performance. Limited scholarships are available. The newly minted cast of “The Amazing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe” will take the stage at Lakewood Cultural Center for two performances at 1 and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, and family, friends and neighbors are encouraged to attend. Following the auditions, $10 tickets for the performances will go on sale at 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 27 at 303-987-7845, Lakewood.org/LCCPresents or the Lakewood Cultural Center Box Office, 470 S.
